Mastaccioli
1/2 pound Mastaccioli, Penne Regate or Elbow Macaroni
3/4 medium Onion, diced
1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
1-3 Garlic Cloves, minced or 1 Tbsp chopped fresh garlic
1 pound Ground Beef, 70/30 or any other ground meat or beef
1- 24 ounce jar Spaghetti Sauce
Pinch of Sugar
Pinch of Fennel Seeds
1/8 tsp. Ground Black Pepper, more to taste
1/4 tsp. each Crushed Rosemary, Basil, Salt and Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp. Oregano
Cook pasta according to package directions then drain.
Saute onions in olive oil for 1-2 minutes until softened. Add garlic and continue cooking until onions are translucent. In another pan brown meat until thoroughly cooked then drain In medium pot add sauce, meat, onions and spices. Cook over low heat for 20 minutes. Season to taste. Add pasta and stir to combine. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Makes 6 cups, 3-4 servings.
